I heard a rumor that this pizza guru uses Trader Joe Pizza crust, has he ever heard of good old hand kneading your own crust from scratch. I'll take this guy any day in a pizza bake off!!

That sounds like a blast! It would take at least one person knowing what they're doing and it sounds like you had THE expert on the premises. For me, I'm not lucky enough to know a pizza guru so I'll stick to my beer parties. Maybe one day your friend can meet mine and we can have home-made pizza & micro-brew parties. Imagine that! Merry Christmas!

Somewhat surprising, I agree. But you have to take into consideration that the hardcore burrito lovers in Chicago aren't that enamored with the SFO/Mission Style burrito. They like them, of course, because they are burritos, but they are regarded as somewhat overblown and non-traditional. Kind of how you and I feel about Fazio designs (golf courses, for those non-golf fans). I strongly suggest that you follow the link on the The Burrito Spectrum, it's more enlightening.

I spent a little time researching starches on Wikipedia and yes, beans are rich in starch. You make a wise observation. I kind of waffled on this when I wrote it but was too lazy to do any research. Lazy and dumb is a bad combination, oh well. Thanks for reading.

John: I think beans are actually starch, aren't they?
My favorirte part of your post:
"the gravitational pull of the earth is too strong for the meat/bone bond."
that's the quote of the day for me! I'm not much of a meat eater but you're almost making me crave them!

John--

I would love this recipe. The only way I've ever made mussels was by tossing them in a pot with garlic, onions, butter, and white wine. It's pretty good, but standard, and looks nowhere as good as this recipe.

Thanks,

I notice it has sunflower seeds, that definitely increases the "not bad for you" factor. It may decrease the "local" factor though, it might come from Russia or even China (in which case you might want to do a lead scan and health benefits may be decreased). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunflower_seed
